About Prescott Perez-Fox
Bio
The One-Liner
Prescott Perez-Fox is a brand developer and designer in New York City.
More Specifically
Prescott grew up in New Jersey and has been influenced by everything from Calculus to comic books. A self-proclaimed renaissance man, he has embraced the order-and-chaos philosophy and enjoys combining seemingly unrelated subjects in day-to-day life. His last name is the result of Puerto Rican and Jewish roots.
Over the years, he has worked in-house and at agencies in Philadelphia, New York, London, and a few places in between. Following a varied experience in print design, identity, and web design, Prescott has spent the past several years focusing on brand identity and packaging. His design sense is influenced heavily by his left-brain, making use of the patterns and shapes from his science-and-math background.
Prescott graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia before heading to Britain for further study at the University College for the Creative Arts (formerly the Surrey Institute of Art & Design).
A Geek From Way Back
It is no great secret that Prescott came into the design profession through his background in computers. Getting his start on the Commodore 64, he became an avid computer user and design proved a natural combination of his artistic tendencies and tech interests. Largely self-taught, he was first exposed to design in the classroom at 16, there gaining the discipline of how to use a computer as a design tool. In 2002, Prescott became a full-time Mac user and in 2004, officially ditched Quark for InDesign.
Side Projects
Prescott maintains a personal blog, and is the arbiter of twentyhood – the podcast about life as a twentysomething. He is active on several online design forums such as PhotoshopCafe.com and is a member of AIGA’s New York chapter.

About this Site
Currently…
perez-fox.com is the design blog and portfolio site of Prescott Perez-Fox.
Prescott likes to blog about design, advertising, brands & branding, and other stuff. While some items may seem like “news”, announcing new logos or advertising controversy, he prefers the site to exist more as a reflective and opiniated look at the world of design. The backdrop of New York City is integral to the blog, as observations of the eccentricities of the City deserved to be seen by all.
Oh, and you can see stuff he’s made in the Portfolio section.
Previously…
This is actually the 7th full version of perez-fox.com. Version 1 was marked when Prescott Perez-Fox decided to register the domain for his quirky last name.
Version 1 was not the first forray into the web for Perez-Fox. Since 1997, he has maintained some sort of a site ranging from the ‘personal home page’ on Geocities to a Star Wars-themed journal as a teenager.
For years, perez-fox.com was a personal blog, featuring Prescott’s photos, writings, rants, and other nonsense that friends like to share with one another. In early 2006, he decided to keep it ‘professional’ and separate his design thoughts and portfolio from his personal photo stash and political rants.
