The Best and Worst Ads of 2008
Between the Olympics and the US Presidential election, I watched more TV in 2008 than I care to admit. And yes, that even included the ads. I’m afraid I’m not one of the TiVo set, and in spite of my ability to multi-task, I was never much of a channel-flipper.
The point is this, advertising still exists, for better or for worse. From AdFreak comes a run-down of the best and worst ads from the past year, including politics spots, homemade videos, and the latest in corporate manufactured big-dollar crap. (ie, Super Bowl ads).
Here’s a few of my personal favs (from the list)
Cheeky Gordon Ramsay impersonation for Caterer.com (the genuine laugher-earner)
Will.I.Am’s “Yes We Can” video for Barack Obama (the emotional impact)
The Gates-Seinfeld “Churros” ad. The start of a short-lived and bizarre campaign which ultimately fell flat. (the straight-up loser)
