Design Observer Takes to the LES
Yesternight, I ventured out into the City for the fifth anniversary party of that great and powerful blog, Design Observer. Luckily, I wasn’t the only who braved the rain of the Lower East Side to hear some beats, share some laughs, and revel in our post-election euphoria.
A good time was had by all, and I even snapped a few photos. Yes, it was very dark in there.

These are the sort of events we need more of. While this particular venue was a bit dark and loud for my taste, it was still a great chance to meet local designers and talk freely — and without being nickeled and dimed by entrance fees, limited seating, or some other logistical hurdle.
I got to see my old pal Tina Roth Eisenberg, my sorta-idol Michael Bierut, DO Managing Editor Jade, and new friends Aaron, Amanda, Drew, Nicole, Alain, and Jon, to name a few. Yo.
