Designing with limited colours is a unique challenge for designers. Corporate colours, production budget, and other logistical limitations often mean that we have to dig deep for ideas on how to make an eye-catching design using only a limited palette.
Sometimes we’ll just use plain old CMYK. From Germany comes the Thnk CMYK series. These books, one for each colour, feature designs done solely in that colour (plus black). Illustration, typography, layout, balance, and other design fundamentals are demonstrated brilliantly.Here’s a few examples:
