Bubbles mean Medals

This is by far the coolest interactive info graphic I’ve seen in recent memory. And yes, it has to do with the Olympics.

From the New York Times comes an interactive visual display of all the medal-winning nations by year. I really don’t need to explain, you should be able to figure it out instantly.

btw, I should note that in 1980 the US boycotted the Moscow games. In 1984, the USSR and East Germany returned the favour by boycotting the 1984 games in LA.
