Time for a New Design?

2008.04.26 10:10

This site has been in its current incarnation for a while now — about 15 months by my count. Not a terribly long time, but in Internet years, that’s ancient. Is it time for a redesign?

Considering I built the template using CSS and web standards, the transition should be seamless — upload a new theme and bam! Yes, there’s a little legwork required from me, and I’ll have to dust off my Dreamweaver and CSS skills, but here’s what a need from you:

Have you seen any great sites lately that I should take a look at? What are your thoughts on the current navigation system? I’m leaning towards a two-column layout like the recent redesigns of Veronica Belmont and Amber MacArthur. Should I add things such as my Twitter feed or is that too ‘personal’?

Hit me with your thoughts, they are of course appreciated.

I have come to this fork in the road many times, on many sites. Problem is, a new design is not only a good thing, make sure you don’t sacrifice usability and compatibility.

I look forward to a new design if you choose that option.
