Right Carson, I forgot to mention Netflix as another method folks are using to remove broadcast TV from their lives. I have it and it's great for movies, although I don't have the patience to watch a TV series one disc at a time with 2-day gaps in between!

Between the new websites, Miro, and Netflix, I think it's very easy to do without a proper TV hookup, or even the actual device. Then again, it's tough to gather around a computer in the living room with friends.

We have cable, but no TV. There's probably a way to watch cable TV on our computers, but I'm not aware of it.

We miss the Simpsons and Keith Olberman, but TV is still, largely, the vast wasteland which was so perfectly coined so long ago.

We can rent TV series at our local rental shop, and we get hard-to-find stuff (like Helvetica — great documentary) from Netflix.
