Mario Energy Drink

In the spirit of nostalgia and video game-inspired drinks, comes this little gem. Mario Power-Up Energy Drink was apparently part of some promotional extravaganza during which many many games were played at Nintendo World right here in New York. Sadly, I missed that event.
So what do we think, should this be an actual product? Can Nintendo pull off a foray into consumer goods where they generally have no business? I think yes, if only for the novelty of it. Mario is one of the few brands that garnishes no scorn (at least from my generation). Even Pokémon has its skeptics. Just what I think. I think we can all agree that this is more clever than Halo Mountain Dew, Ubuntu Cola or Microsoft Cola.
This is technically an energy drink, so I understand the name “Power-Up”, if had been a soda, they surely would have named it “1-Up”. That would be awesome.]
This came to me via digg.

This would be a great idea! Especially for the Gen-X and Yers who grew up with Mario and are the most likely to drink energy drinks…
I can still see running after those mushrooms to get “big”
