BMW-Starbucks Coffee Machine

Starbucks and BMW

“In collaboration with BMW Group DesignworksUSA and Saeco, the leading coffee machine manufacturer, Starbucks has developed a unique espresso machine for domestic use.”

I had a bit of a brand spasm when I read this the other day. Unlike previous brand team-ups by which I was thoroughly puzzled (ahem, Nickelodeon-Marriott?), this one makes a great deal of sense; BMW makes precision machinery, Starbucks knows a thing or two about coffee, and Saeco is a bond between them. Cross-branding the way it was meant to be.

So how does the new coffee maker look? Pretty damn cool, I say. But it’s no Porsche-LaCie harddrive.

Ferrari has been ahead with Cell phones, Segway, Amusement parks, Notebooks and so on, while for BMW,
