Ubuntu Cola

Well, it was only a matter of time before an obscure operating system became a cola beverage. Wait, what?

Ubuntu Cola

Ubuntu, the choice of many a Linux user is now a soda, apparently. A logical follow-up to the Microsoft Soda which is, after all, completely illogical. The key brand value of Ubuntu is that it’s an open-source system, where the community itself are the developers. Also, unlike Mac or Windows, it’s free!

So is this cola open-source with it’s formula? Are the cans free, assuming that you, as a drinker, have something to do with the development? Where did this come from anyway? Unfortunately, the Flickr page which originated the image doesn’t provide too many answers.

Oh and for the record, that can doesn’t abide by the general aesthetics of the Ubuntu brand, which are in general rather pleasant considering the ultra-low budget.

I am a Ubuntu user myself and i think it is very odd for a computer company to make a soft drink. I would like to know where i could get some of this cola. I live in Australia.

I read about this cola in the newspaper when it was released a few months ago. Canonical LTD (makers of Ubuntu) aren’t responsible for the cola. I believe the cola was unwittingly released with the same name.
