The Human Element

Ok, so first things first, this is a brilliant commercial from DOW. Not really sure they’re selling anything, but how beautiful, no? Props to the copywriter for this one!

Second thing, why does everyone want to be a scientist all of sudden? Clearly DOW is more relevant to use the Periodic Table in their ads than, say, Audi, but it’s still something to note.

Personally, I like the trend. Following and article revealing US Students are studying Physics more than ever before, it’s clear that Science is once again hip. So, admen of the world, take note – art school is out, ditch that BFA and dive head first into those Nobel Prize-winning papers.

I fear, however, that the new-found fascination with the science world will leave it hackneyed and overdone. Imagine if the Periodic Table were to fall victim to the same trend-death as, say, rollerblading. For now, enjoy the ride. Let’s see who’s next to take old Rutherford into the 21st Century.
